My Culture My family heritage ia routed back to Norway, Ireland, Scotland, and England. My great grandparents came to America to start a new life. Even though my grandparents come from different countriee, English is the language spoken in mmy home.
On my fathers side their religious faith if Prostestant. And on my mothers side they are Catholic. My sisters and I are raised both Lutheran and Catholic. I attend church every Sunday.
My family traditions may vary to others. At Christmas we start our holidays by decorating a tree. We place family ornaments on the family picked tree. The decoration of my tree, my Aunt Deborah's tree, and my grandmothers tree is always a family affair.

My Culture I was born in America but my parent's family are from India. My dad's family is half Native American and Indian from India. WE do have some traditions like celebrating a traditional festival called "The Festival of Lights", where Indians gather around eat, watch fireworks, and exchange presents. The Festival of Lights is my favorite celebration, where we go to Southstreet Seaport every November or October. The languages that my family and I speak at home are English and sometimes Hindi, which is the most spoken language in India. English is the main language we speak at home though. I was born listening to my mother speak to me in Hindi, but I still need to learn. In my family we have an Indian station that we watch almost everyday. My parents and myself gather around to watch Indian episodes that tell a story. It's actually for grownups though its a very easy way to learn how to speak Hindi, because there are subtitles and you can tell what everyone's saying. The food that my parents cook are very diversed. My father, brother and I eat every kind of food, from every culture. My dad is the one who cooks American meat with an Indian touch to it. My mom is a vegetarian, so she mostly cooks the very traditional vegetarian food. Though sometimes my mom would cook meat. Since I was born in America I wear the regular American attire, which are T-shirts, jeans/pants, shoes, dresses, etc. and with that I also mix in my own style. Sometimes on special occasions I would wear Indian clothes and my mom would draw Henna designs on my hand. I get a lot of gifts throughout the years, because my family and I celebrate July 4th, Thanksgiving, New Years, plus our own cultural festivals, and other holidays too. Music is also very diversed in my family. My parents both listen to classical Indian and American music. While my brother and I both listen to current contemporary music. Overall, in my family we are very diversed and keep our Indian traditions with us.

My culture consists of many things, because my family has different aspects to it. We are Christian, but specifically we're Lutherans. In my house me and my family speak one language, English. At school me and my brother are both taught Spanish but we don't speak it at home. On my mom's side of the family we are Irish and West Indies, but on my dad's side we are Italian and Irish. My dad is the real Italian of the family because he cooks the most dishes regularly and he actually is the most Italian. My mom cooks all of the desserts and breads. As a Lutheran we go to church every Sunday and we celebrate holidays such as Good Friday, Easter and Christmas. Some other holidays that we celebrate are St. Patricks Day, The Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day and Birthdays. A few traditions that we have are on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving and St. Patricks Day we have a traditional meal with the entire family.

My Culture this is Darah, again this time I'm telling you about my American culture. I am an African American girl with the background of being Panamanian, Barbados and on my dads side imp from down South like in North Carolina. Aside from my background I don’t talk any different than a regular American however my mom and her family have a West Indian accent. While my dad and his family have a Southern accent. As for the way we dress, yes you guessed it we dress regular just like anybody else. A very popular outfit for girls in the U.S is jeans and a shirt. We sometimes eat special meals from like Panama such as really hot curry chicken and rice. Me personally don’t like chicken all that much but I sometimes am forced to eat it. On my dads side they eat ducks and rabbits. Crazy I know but that is how they eat. So there you have it my culture.

Does the U.S. Have a Single Culture? Does the U.S. Have A Single Culture?
No. The U.S. does not have a single culture because the U.S. is mostly immigrants from all over the world who settled here and made a living and a family. America culture is a melting pot of other cultures. Our culture is based on the rights of humans and how to express themselves. The values which most americans hold are hard work and becoming rich and successful. When it comes to material items that are important to american’s there’s not one specific status symbol. When we look around us we see many different types of people and lifestyles. People say that America is a refuge, a home and a sanctuary to different nationalities around the world. The Statue of Liberty has a motto, “Give me your tired and your poor”, which shows that Americans have freedom in all that they do.

There is more then one culture in America. Our culture is a mix of every culture in the world. People express their culture by food, dress, and ceremonies. Many people in America have different religions. If you go to Italy you would eat Italian food, if you go to china you would be eating Chinese food, but in America you eat all different types of food that you would find all over the world. America even has their own holidays such as: 4th of July, Independence Day, and Thanksgiving. Our country is very special because we have the right to express ourselves because we have

American Cultures
We have so many cultures in the Uniteed States. It is really amazing to see how many there really are. All of the cultures that we have here in the U.S. contribute to the different things that we do here. All cultures are different in U.S. and that is what makes the culture we have as americans so great. We all celebrate different holidays. Americans usually celebrate Christmas, Easter, Independence day, Thanksgiving, and so many more. Other cultures may celebrate their own holidays. The different culures in the U.S. share their ideas of music, food, dressing, holidays, and other things. Our country has so many different cultures that we are called "The melting pot." I interpret this expression that we have so many cultures that we all melt together and bcome one big culture of Americans. Our country stands for freedeom, equal rights, and justice.
